Engineering Manager
OverviewReporting to the Plant Manager, this role is responsible for developing and executing the plant's technical strategy, with a focus on engineering projects, maintenance excellence, and stores optimization. The position leads plant-level engineering and maintenance initiatives that support low‑loss production, vertical startup processes, and Early Management programs.You will provide technical solutions to production challenges, oversee the plant's technical organization, and collaborate with cross-functional and corporate partners to drive performance, safety, and cost objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesChampion plant safety as the top priority, driving initiatives that ensure a safe work environment for all employeesLead the development and execution of the plant capital plan in partnership with cross-functional teams including Safety, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Finance, and EnvironmentalPartner with centralized engineering leadership to allocate resources for projects, including project management, technical expertise, and startup supportDrive continuous improvement efforts, including support for internal audits and operational excellence programsProvide direction and leadership for Early Management (EM) initiatives, establishing both short- and long-term plant goalsDeliver technical leadership for project execution at both plant and broader organizational levelsLead and participate in cross-functional project teams focused on improving safety, quality, efficiency, cost performance, and customer serviceFoster strong communication and collaboration across departments to optimize resource utilization and operational efficiencyOversee plant utilities, ensuring reliable operation and compliance across systems such as refrigeration, ammonia, nitrogen, steam, natural gas, and compressed airLead team meetings and development efforts to support engagement, alignment, and performancePartner closely with Maintenance, Production, Quality, and Warehouse teams to maintain a high-performing plant environmentProvide direction and coordination for maintenance-related mechanical and administrative activitiesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering5+ years of experience in a Food or consumer goods manufacturing environmentMust have ammonia and/ or refrigeration experienceProven leadership experience, including mentoring and influencing cross-functional teamsStrong communication skills with the ability to present across all levels of a manufacturing organizationExperience with CAD softwareFamiliarity with ERP systemsFlexibility to support rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
