Job DescriptionLocation: Charlotte, NC – Hybrid (3x per week onsite in Ally Charlotte Center)Experience Level: 0 - 1 YearsWork Authorization: We are unable to provide sponsorship currently.The Junior Systems Engineer supports the lifecycle management of enterprise data and voice circuits under the guidance of senior engineers and team leads. This entry-level role is ideal for a candidate with 0–1 year of experience who is eager to learn telecommunications operations, vendor coordination, and enterprise infrastructure processes. The engineer will assist with ordering, tracking, documentation, billing review, and communication across internal teams and external vendors.Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesAssist with the lifecycle support of data and voice circuits, including order intake, vendor coordination, delivery tracking, activations, service changes, and disconnect requests.Work with circuit vendors and carriers to gather updates, follow up on milestones, and escalate issues to senior team members as needed.Support internal ordering and procurement processes, including submitting purchase requests and helping track approvals and documentation.Maintain accurate circuit and inventory records in approved systems and tools, ensuring data integrity and timely updates.Help review billing and invoice information to identify potential discrepancies, post disconnect charges, or missing updates, escalating findings for resolution.Partner with engineering, field operations, and site contacts to support circuit turn-ups, testing activities, and service readiness.Create and update tickets or tasks in tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar platforms to track work and progress.Provide basic status updates and documentation to stakeholders with guidance from senior engineers.Must-Have Skills0–1 years of experience (including internships, co-ops, or relevant academic projects) in IT, network operations, telecommunications, or infrastructure support.Basic understanding of data and voice connectivity concepts such as WAN, DIA, MPLS, or carrier-delivered services (training provided).Familiarity with ticketing or workflow tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar (academic or internship experience acceptable).Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to follow documented processes and instructions.Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to ask questions and learn from others.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard productivity tools.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
