Occupational Therapist
**Job Overview:**
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and therapy services to individuals in need. The Occupational Therapist will work closely with patients and healthcare professionals to develop personalized treatment plans that promote rehabilitation, independence, and overall well-being.
**Duties:**
- Conduct patient assessments to identify physical, cognitive, and emotional impairments that may impact daily functioning.
- Design and implement individualized occupational therapy plans to address patient needs and goals.
- Utilize a range of evidence-based techniques, including speech therapy, to improve patient function and participation in daily activities.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as speech therapists and physicians, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide patient education and support to promote self-care and independence.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Document patient care and therapy sessions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in case management to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Stay current with the latest developments in occupational therapy and medical terminology.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
**Requirements:**
- A Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
- A current license to practice occupational therapy in the state.
- A strong foundation in anatomy and physiology knowledge.
- Excellent patient service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a hospital setting, including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Experience in occupational health and case management.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and a commitment to staying current with the latest developments in the field.
- A passion for delivering high-quality patient care and a commitment to the principles of occupational therapy.
Day in the Life of an Occupational Therapist:
Maintains timely and accurate patient records and reports.
Supervise Assistant / Aide staff as guided by governing board.
Designs and fabricates splints as specified by doctors' prescriptions.
Designs and administers treatment programs to increase patients' (residents) levels of functioning.
Uses therapeutic exercises and activities to improve or maintain strength, range of motion, and fine-motor coordination.
Compliance Credentials Needed for Submission:
Current OT MO License
Current AHA BLS
Job Type: Contract
