Drafter
Reports to: Director of Technical ServicesPosition SummaryThe Drafter is responsible for producing accurate and timely drawings for commercial projects. This role supports the drafting department by creating detailed drawing packages, maintaining drafting standards, and coordinating with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, and Field teams to ensure constructability and project alignment.The Drafter works under the direction of the Lead Drafter and contributes to continuous improvement efforts focused on drafting workflows, accuracy, and efficiency.Roles & ResponsibilitiesProduce accurate drawings for commercial aluminum deck and railing projects.Interpret architectural, structural, and engineered drawings to develop complete drafting packages.Create and maintain SolidWorks models, assemblies, and related drawing documentation.Coordinate with project management teams to prioritize workload and meet project schedules.Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, and Field teams to resolve drawing-related issues.Assist in identifying drafting inconsistencies, fabrication concerns, and opportunities for process improvement.Maintain organized and accurate project documentation for traceability and future reference.Support quality control efforts to minimize drafting-related rework, redraws, and fabrication errors.Participate in training, development, and continuous improvement initiatives within the drafting department.Maintain professionalism and clear communication with internal teams and external partners as needed.Qualifications & SkillsProficiency in SolidWorks and related drafting software.Strong understanding of industry standards for shop drawings.Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on constructability and efficiency.Compensation & BenefitsSalary up to $75,000 per year (DOE)401(k) planHealth, dental, vision, life, and disability insuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)Paid time off and paid sick leaveBereavement leaveReferral programWork LocationIn-person position
