Position Type:Preschool/Preschool TeacherDate Posted:3/2/2026Location:Educational Service Center of Eastern OhioClosing Date:Until FilledDistrict:ESC of Eastern OhioPosition Title: Itinerant Teacher, PreschoolCategory: Certified; Bargaining Unit eligible; FLSA exempt.Contract: Initial one-year contract; contract days as determined by the Governing Board; Other terms and conditions of employment as per the CBA and/or Board Policy.Compensation: Salary, insurance coverage, and fringe benefits as per the current Board adopted policies and schedules, with placement for granted education, experience, and responsibility.Education/Degree: Bachelor's degree in EducationReports to: Supervisor, Preschool ProgramsSupervises: N/AJob Goal: The incumbent of this position is responsible for the itinerant teaching services to children in community preschools, child care centers, the home, or other locations as agreed upon according to the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards, communicating effectively with parents, following rules and regulations, and exhibiting professionalism in the community at all times. Routine tasks are performed independently referring new or unusual situations to the supervisor for input and resolutions. Performance is evaluated in terms of the quality of instruction, efficiency, effectiveness, and adherence to applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines.Qualifications: The following qualifications are considered as guidelines:- Appropriate Ohio Educational Certificate/License or eligibility.- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and software/programs.- Exceptional organizational and communications skills.- Abilities to promote positive internal and external customer relations.- Alternatives to the above as approved by the Governing Board.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Provide the supervisor with the schedule.2. Prepare and provide to supervisor weekly Lesson Plans aligned with Early Learning standards, student goals and based on developmentally appropriate practices.3. Maintain a complete file and have it available at all times.4. Make all arrangements with families and community preschool sites for itinerant services.5. Provide itinerant teacher services to children in community preschools, homes, or other settings agreed upon to support IEP goals in accordance with the Ohio Department of Education standards and ESCEO Expectations.6. Provide lessons and activities in the preschool classroom.7. Provide positive modeling for adults and children.8. Prepare and provide materials and activities to address individual goals.9. Complete the Early Learning Assessment (ELA) and the Child Outcomes Summary (COS for each child on the caseload.10. Work with related service staff to ensure continuity of services.11. Communicate to parents and others the preschool program philosophy.12. Develop and maintain communication with parents via telephone, written communication, class ties, home visits, conferences, and quarterly progress reports.13. Provide families with written documentation for each session with the child.14. Encourage parents to attend and be supportive of all parent activities (i.e., committees, meetings, and pieces of training).15. Attend and actively engage in meetings and professional development activities.16. Work cooperatively with all agencies and building personnel and serve as a liaison between home, center, and community.17. Maintain current personnel data, including but not limited to the following: Medication Administration, First Aid, Childhood Illness, CPR, Child Abuse Training, High School Diploma, and College Transcripts.18. Maintain and submit all weekly, monthly, and yearly records, as required, including but not limited to the following: Attendance, Incident Report, Home Visits Reports, Pupil Evaluations, and Progress Reports, Lesson Plans, Home Communication Systems.19. Maintain appropriate assessment records and follow-up for each child.20. Report all children's injuries on the Incident report Form within 8 hours.21. Report all staff injuries.22. Implement other current and future responsibilities as mandated or required by National, regional, and State Offices.23. Assist in screening and multi-factor evaluation process of referred preschool children (3-5yrs.), including the assessment of parent/child interaction via observation and interview.24. Assist the IEP team in designing an individualized education program for each identified child that provided for the child's developmental needs across the cognitive, language, pre-academic, fine/gross motor, adaptive, and social/emotional domains as indicated in the formal assessment process.25. Participates in annual reviews for identified children with disabilities.26. Communicates with local school personnel regarding the needs of both typical children and children with a disability transitioning to Kindergarten.27.
