The Kenosha County Parks Division is accepting applications for a Beach Managerto work at Silver Lake Park's public beach for the 2026 season,Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends.Under the direct supervision of the Park Superintendent, the Beach Manager oversees all beach personnel including lifeguards, fee collectors, and beach operations. The Beach Manager is responsible for the safe operation of Silver Lake beach and must maintain order and control of the beach premises at all times.If you like managing people in an outdoor setting, enjoy working with the public, and are looking for a fun seasonal opportunity - this could be the job for you!2026 Pay Range: $16.00 - $22.00 per hourHiring BonusA Kenosha County seasonal Park candidate who is successfully hired and employed for at least 30 days shall be awarded a $200.00 bonus to their paycheck.WORK SCHEDULESilver Lake beach is open from Memorial Day through Labor DayFull-time schedule of 40 hours per week, with rotating days off, weekendsHours are typically 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. but flexibility may be allowedRequired to work evenings, weekends, and holidaysWork schedules are dependent on weather and water quality conditionsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssign and supervise all personnel at these facilities in the performance of their duties (i.e. park operations attendants, lifeguards, concession/fee collector associates)Direct and participate with staff in maintaining high standards of safety, emergency care, and maintenanceEnforce Kenosha County rules and regulationsMake all work schedules, rotations, and personnel assignmentsComplete bi-weekly payroll reports for staffEvaluate staff performanceKeep necessary recordsPerform other duties as required or assignedLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSCurrent American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard Training or Ellis & Associates (Ellis) Lifeguard TrainingARC or Ellis Waterfront LifeguardingARC or Ellis Lifeguard Training InstructorCPR for the Professional Rescuer certificationJOB REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCEMust be at least 18 years old at time of applicationHigh school diploma or GED equivalentThree years of management experience preferredMust possess a valid driver's license at time of hire and maintain during incumbency, with acceptable driving recordSUCCESS FACTORSAbility to delegate, accept, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructionAbility to observe safety precautionsAbility to enforce rules and regulations in an effective and appropriate mannerAbility to perform semi-skilled and skilled tasks outdoors related to the maintenance of beach, grounds, and facilitiesAbility to handle public rentals of kayaks and paddleboardsAbility to maintain positive interactions with the public, employees, and others, using effective communication skillsAbility to work respectfully in a diverse and inclusive environmentPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
