The company is advancing toward an AI-first strategy while modernizing the revenue, Salesforce, and data infrastructure that powers its marketplace.About the OpportunityThe Senior Data Engineer II leads the end-to-end design and management of data pipeline architecture within a focused, high-impact data platform team. This senior individual contributor role combines hands-on engineering, production operations, and independent architectural decision-making. The position helps shape how analytics engineering, data science, and product engineering teams build and operate on the data platform.Responsibilities• Own architecture across data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and serving layers.• Design improvements that optimize warehouse costs, compute efficiency, access control, reliability, and observability.• Lead large cross-functional projects and multiple concurrent technical initiatives from design through delivery.• Develop monitoring, testing, and alerting systems to improve production visibility and reliability.• Enhance orchestration, CI/CD, data access, and developer experience across the platform.• Mentor data and analytics engineers and provide technical guidance on architecture and data modeling decisions.• Develop practical AI-powered tools and automation to increase engineering efficiency and team leverage.• Troubleshoot production data infrastructure and resolve complex pipeline and platform issues.• Communicate architectural decisions, tradeoffs, and technical recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Requirements• 6–9 years of experience as a data engineer or data platform engineer.• Strong hands-on SQL and Python skills suitable for production environments.• Production experience with containerized data infrastructure, including deployment and operational troubleshooting.• Experience with pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow.• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery.• Proven ability to own data pipeline architecture end to end.• Strong understanding of tradeoffs involving data freshness, cost, scalability, reliability, and system simplicity.• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and architectural tradeoffs effectively.• US work authorization without current or future visa sponsorship.Pay Range and Compensation Package• Base salary range of $145,000–$207,000 per year.• Competitive equity compensation.Benefits & Perks• Strong emphasis on sustainable work pace and work-life balance.• High ownership within a small data platform team.• Meaningful greenfield engineering opportunities.• Fully remote work within the United States.• Opportunity to attend company on-sites up to four times per year.• Full-time senior individual contributor position.Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
