LOADER OPERATOR

Job Description The Loader Operator safely operates a large front-end loader (WA500) to load customer trucks in a fast-paced environment. They will also be responsible for managing sand/rock stockpiles and other tasks assigned by supervisors.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESOperate equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with training and manufacturer's instructionPerform pre-shift safety inspection on the vehicle systems, equipment and accessoriesAbility to track customer trucks, and to complete records and reports accuratelyPerform preventative maintenance on construction equipmentReport needed repairs to SupervisorEnsure material is properly loaded according to safety requirementsResponsible for good housekeeping of equipmentAssist in plant maintenance and repairsAssist with operation of other equipment as neededAdhere to MSHA and plant safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulationsPerform duties with minimum supervisionParticipates in job and safety training as scheduled by the company.Assist the Plant Operator in monitoring plant operationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent experience requiredWorking knowledge of heavy construction equipmentPrevious loader operator experience preferred but not required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESMust be able to work 12-hour shifts, possible weekends, overtime, and holidays as neededMust be able to read equipment operating manualMust be able to communicate over CB radio or with hand signals and warning sounds, with coworkers regarding movement of vehicles and mobile equipmentMust wear all required safety equipment/PPEMust be able to perform duties in a safe mannerMust be able to read and interpret gaugesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust have good hand/eye coordination and be able to operate hand/foot controlsMust be able to climb on and off equipment to operate and serviceMust be able to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel in limited space in cab of vehicleMust be able to sit and operate equipment for long periods up to 10+ hours per dayCapable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.Must work outside in all weather conditions consistent with extreme ambient temperatures: heat, cold, wetness, dryness, dust, and noisy conditionsMust be able to work at various heightsMust be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 lbs.
