Technical Sales & Marketing SpecialistConfidential - Engineering & Construction Services FirmPosition OverviewA growing engineering and construction services firm in Colorado is seeking a Technical Sales & Marketing Specialist with experience in geotechnical engineering services and construction materials testing (CMT).This position combines technical understanding of construction testing services with business development and proposal management responsibilities. The role will support company growth by identifying project opportunities, preparing competitive proposals, coordinating with technical staff, and helping secure new work across infrastructure, commercial development, and public-sector projects.The ideal candidate understands construction testing requirements, project specifications, and proposal preparation within the geotechnical and construction materials testing industry.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness DevelopmentIdentify and pursue new opportunities with general contractors, developers, civil and structural engineering firms, and public agenciesDevelop and maintain professional relationships within the construction, infrastructure, and development marketsMonitor upcoming construction activity including public bid opportunities and private development projectsSupport growth initiatives across transportation, commercial, municipal, and infrastructure sectors Proposal and Bid PreparationPrepare technical proposals, bids, and cost estimates for geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and special inspection servicesReview construction drawings, project specifications, and testing requirements to define appropriate scopes of workDevelop pricing for services such as:Field density testingConcrete and asphalt testingAggregate testingLaboratory soil testingSpecial inspectionsGeotechnical engineering investigationsCoordinate internally with engineering staff, laboratory personnel, and field technicians to confirm scope, scheduling, and resource availabilityEnsure proposals comply with project specifications and applicable industry standards Proposal ManagementTrack opportunities through the entire proposal lifecycle, from lead identification to contract awardMaintain internal records of proposals and opportunitiesManage multiple proposal deadlines while ensuring accuracy and completenessAssist with preparation of statements of qualifications (SOQs) and prequalification packages Client EngagementParticipate in pre-bid meetings, client meetings, and industry networking eventsAssist with marketing and outreach to contractors, developers, and engineering firmsSupport ongoing client relationships and follow-up communicationQualificationsExperience in construction materials testing (CMT), geotechnical engineering, or related construction servicesUnderstanding of testing services including:Soil compaction testingConcrete testingAsphalt testingAggregate testingLaboratory soil testingExperience preparing bids, cost estimates, or technical proposalsAbility to interpret construction plans, specifications, and testing requirementsStrong written and verbal communication skillsHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple proposal deadlinesPreferred QualificationsExperience working for a geotechnical engineering or construction materials testing firmFamiliarity with ASTM, AASHTO, CDOT and municipal testing requirementsExisting relationships with contractors, developers, or engineering firmsExperience with public procurement processes, including:Request for Proposals (RFP)Request for Qualifications (RFQ)Public bid solicitationsOn-call engineering service contractsUnderstanding of construction project scheduling and field operations
