This position is 100% funded under the ESSA Title I, Part A Program and will require time and effort in the form of biannual certification. In the absence of Title I, Part A funds and/or the needs of the district, continuation of this position can be rescinded.To facilitate and assist in providing a quality program of instruction designed to meet the affective, linguistic and cognitive needs of limited English proficient students.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist bilingual teacher in providing quality dual-language instruction for limited English proficient students.Support and carry out activities related to the bilingual program.Perform duties involving the supervision of students.Communicate with students, teachers, staff, and parents.Present a positive role model for students.Demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement.Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.Maintain regular attendance.Perform other duties as assigned.The Bilingual Aide must spend 90-95% of their day fulfilling the responsibilities defined in the job description or other duties as assigned as related to meeting the intent and purpose of Title I, Part A per TEA guidance.EXPERIENCE:Previous work with children in job-related capacity or volunteer workExperience related to working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendentExperience may be work in church-related schools, day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed day-care centers, or similar agencies or institutionsQUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:* High School Diploma or GED* Valid Texas educational aide certificate (must obtain within 30 days of employment)Special Knowledge/Skills:Fluent in SpanishAbility to work well with othersPositive human relations skillsAppreciation of and patience with childrenExcellent communication skills in Spanish and in EnglishAbility to follow oral and written instructionsPositive work performance regarding promptness, attendance, and productivityWillingness to take initiativeCONTACT INFORMATION:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environment Factors:Maintain emotional control under stress.
