Financial Analyst - VIRGINIA Construction
The Program Finance department serves as a critical business partner by providing analysis, insight, and guidance to enable strategic program decisions and achieving bottom-line results.This Financial Analyst position, located at the Groton Shipyard Facility, supports the VIRGINIA Construction Program Finance team.Responsibilities Include Performance measurement and variance analysis; including Cost Account Plans Communication with Cost Account Managers and department Directors Budget development and maintenance Estimate at Complete review Create and update daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports Manpower Plan and Operating Plan development Input to Finance Systems for Indicated Profit, Sales Orders and Backlog Bi-weekly construction progressing Preparation of billing instructions for submittal to Cash Management Preparation of cost reports to support both internal and external customers Shop Order control Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics/Analysis Preferred 2+ years of related experience Prior Electric Boat experience/internship Earned Value Management experience Experience in Government contract cost control Experience with EB Systems (Mainframe, MRPII, Purchasing and Inventory, Oracle) Experience reporting and analyzing financial data Experience with Power BI Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas) and PowerPoint Must be interested in and capable of analyzing large sets of data with minimal supervision Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management Ability to work collaboratively with others
