Title: Assistant Tournament Director (Baseball) - All-Ripken GamesOrganization: Unrivaled Sports | All-Ripken GamesPosition Type: Seasonal / Event-BasedLocation: Aberdeen, MarylandEvent Dates: September 4th-7th, 2026Position SummaryUnrivaled Sports is seeking an experienced and highly organized Assistant Tournament Director to support the planning and execution of All-Ripken Games events. This leadership role is critical to delivering a premier tournament and player-development experience. The Assistant Tournament Director works closely with the Tournament Director, Field Coordinators, coaches, umpires, and operations staff to ensure smooth event operations, strong communication, and adherence to All-Ripken standards.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Operations & LeadershipSupport the Tournament Director in all aspects of event planning and executionAssist with daily operational oversight of fields, schedules, staffing, and game flowServe as a key on-site decision-maker and escalation point for operational issuesEnsure event timelines, schedules, and standards are consistently metGame Management & Rule EnforcementOversee adherence to tournament rules, roster guidelines, and safety protocolsCommunicate inning limits, time limits, run rules, and tie-breaker procedures to coaches and umpiresAssist with resolving on-field disputes in a professional, calm, and solutions-oriented mannerStaff & Coach SupportSupervise and support Field Coordinators and seasonal staffProvide guidance and direction to coaches regarding expectations, responsibilities, and player managementEnsure coaches uphold All-Ripken standards for instruction, sportsmanship, and player safetyCommunication & CoordinationServe as a primary communication liaison between Operations, coaches, umpires, vendors, and facility partnersAssist with managing event communication platforms (e.g., GroupMe, Event Hub, Tourney Machine)Support coach meetings, staff briefings, and daily operational updatesPlayer Experience & SafetyEnsure a positive, development-focused experience for all athletesAddress player, coach, or parent concerns with professionalism and empathyEnforce safety standards, medical protocols, and emergency procedures as neededAdministrative & Reporting SupportAssist with score reporting, standings verification, and schedule updatesSupport documentation related to staffing, incidents, and event reportingProvide post-event feedback and recommendations for continuous improvementProfessionalism & Brand RepresentationRepresent Unrivaled Sports and the All-Ripken brand with professionalism, integrity, and energyServe as a visible leader on-site, setting the tone for staff, coaches, and participantsWork collaboratively across departments to deliver a best-in-class event experienceQualificationsRequired: One or more of the following:High School Head Coaching experienceCollege coaching experienceCollege or professional playing experienceStrong understanding of baseball/softball rules, tournament formats, and game operationsProven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, live-event environmentPreferredPrior experience as a Tournament Director, Assistant Director, or Field CoordinatorExperience with showcase, all-star, or large-scale youth sports eventsBackground in athlete development, evaluation, or event operationsTime CommitmentEvent-based / seasonal positionRequires availability for multi-day events, including early mornings, evenings, and weekendsDiversity, Equity & InclusionUnrivaled Sports is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where individuals of all backgrounds feel welcomed, valued, and respected.
