Sr. Software Engineer – Distributed Systems & Platform Integration

What You’ll DoPlatform Integration (Primary Focus)Build and maintain integration layers that connect application software to our distributed platformDevelop API interfaces (gRPC and/or REST) that allow existing systems to leverage platform capabilitiesEnable legacy and modern systems to communicate effectively without requiring full rewritesAPI & System DesignDefine and implement clear, scalable API contractsPartner with application teams to understand integration needs and ensure practical, usable solutionsDesign systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and long-term maintainabilityPlatform ContributionContribute to the underlying platform (Rust-based), including messaging, coordination, and system componentsHelp evolve the platform toward more advanced, AI-enabled workflows and capabilitiesCollaboration & Problem SolvingParticipate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviewsTroubleshoot integration issues, system behavior, and performance challenges across environmentsContribute to documentation, best practices, and integration guidanceWhat You BringRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Strong experience with C++ in production environmentsExperience designing and building APIs (gRPC and/or REST)Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts (event-driven systems, messaging, concurrency)Ability to design across system boundaries and work with multiple technologiesExperience working in Linux-based development environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Rust or willingness to learnFamiliarity with distributed or decentralized systems (e.g., P2P, consensus models)Experience with tools like Protocol Buffers, async frameworks, or modern backend systemsExposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)Experience with Python, frontend frameworks, or C++ UI frameworks (e.g., Qt)Why This RoleWork on complex, high-impact systems that connect next-generation technology with real-world applicationsInfluence how a distributed platform is adopted across an entire product ecosystemCollaborate across engineering teams and contribute to long-term platform strategyBe part of a team exploring the intersection of distributed systems and emerging AI capabilitiesBottom LineThis role is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys:Solving complex integration challengesBridging modern and legacy systemsWorking across architecture, APIs, and platform development
