Strictly W2 Only - No C2CJob Title: Java DeveloperLocation: New York City, NY (Minimum 3 days onsite)Duration: 6 Months ContractWork Type: Hybrid⚠️ Candidates must be local to NYC and only US Citizens and Permanent residents are accepted Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications using J2EE technologies.Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and global engineering teams to deliver project requirements.Design and implement scalable, robust backend solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and backlog grooming.Write high-quality code and ensure unit test coverage and performance optimization.Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support continuous integration and deployment pipelines.Implement and maintain RESTful web services and enterprise integration frameworks.Troubleshoot performance issues and apply profiling tools for application optimization.Maintain documentation and contribute to technical architecture discussions and design improvements.Must Haves:5–9 years of experience developing enterprise applications using Java / J2EE technologies.Strong programming skills in: Core Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate / ORMExperience building RESTful APIs and web services.Experience working with XML, JSON, SOAP, XSLT, and XPath.Experience deploying applications on Apache Tomcat or similar application servers.Strong experience writing SQL queries and working with databases such as: Sybase, DB2Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit.Hands-on experience using profiling tools (JProfiler / JProbe or similar).Familiarity with JIRA or ALM tools for project management and issue tracking.Ability to work in fast-paced enterprise development environments.Knowledge of financial markets, banking products, or wealth management domain.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.Nice to Have:Experience with frontend technologies such as Angular, React, or JavaScript frameworks.Experience implementing Test Driven Development (TDD) practices.Experience working in financial services or banking technology environments.Familiarity with Unix or Linux development environments.Exposure to AI development tools or machine learning models in development workflows.
