Non-Certified Classroom Teacher 26/27 school yearAZACS is growing, and we invite you to apply to be part of our award-winning teamAZACS was awarded the 2023/2024 National ESEA Distinguished Schools Award for Arizona and the 2022 YASS Prize for innovation in education and providing a transformational experience by expanding unique individualized learning programs for autism charter schools.Our AZACS Teacher's Academy will provide those with a bachelor's degree the potential to advance their career through hands-on learning, comprehensive training, and support from certified educational professionals.We are seeking Classroom Teacher candidates to implement instruction in a classroom with support from campus leadership. Under the supervision and direction of campus leadership, the Classroom Teacher will teach and implement Arizona Autism Charter School's (AZACS) adopted curriculum and students' IEP goals within the AZACS structured classroom model.Candidates must be experienced with classroom teaching and ABA teaching strategies and have significant experience conducting these activities within school settings. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to be trained, coached, and be able to motivate behavioral staff in the classroom. The Classroom Teacher will work hand-in-hand with the SPED Campus Leadership and the ABA Manager, implementing a best-practice education model to achieve optimal results for students on the autism spectrum and related disorders.Duties:Serve as the lead teacher and point person in a classroomWork with a classroom team that includes work with a classroom teacherEnsure that the classroom support staff are implementing instructional strategies and lessons as set forthCreate a safe and effective learning environmentWeekly lesson planning for instruction of state standardsProvide daily feedback to support staffParticipate in regular observations and in-the-moment coaching from campus leadership, and report data with high fidelity and analyze data bi-weekly to make instructional decisionsRegular parent communication following AZACS guidelinesModification of materials to meet student needs and IEP requirementsMaintain substitute plans in case of absenceParticipate in all duties and responsibilities as appropriate for an AZACS faculty memberContribute to IEPs as appropriateOther duties as assigned by the administrationMinimum Qualifications:At least 1 year of experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities in a classroom environment is preferredBachelor's degree required.Enrollment in the AZACS Teaching Certification program or a college/university certification program is required after obtaining a bachelor's degreeMastery and enthusiasm for best practices in autism education and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)Track record of success in behavior management with students with autism or other special needsAbility to approach situations with optimism and perseveranceAbility to communicate with parents, co-workers, and professional contacts courteously and professionally, and follow AZACS guidelinesAbility to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneouslyAbility to exercise reasonable judgment and maintain confidentialityExperience in structured teaching, center-based model preferredValid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance cardExperience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.Benefits:A school located at a new state-of-the-art Autism CenterEligible to participate in benefits including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, critical care, hospitalization, scheduled accident coverage, voluntary supplemental life, and pet insurance80 hours of Paid Time Off and Paid Federal Holidays401K with a company matchGroup Life Insurance and Employee Assistance ProgramComplementary access to Calm Health for you and up to 5 of your loved onesGreat professional development and advancement opportunities, including obtaining an Arizona Mild/Moderate teacher certification free (estimated value of $15,000)Supervisory Responsibilities:Set up of lessons and instructional activities for classroom support staff.
