The start date for the position is August 1, 2026.The successful candidate will be highly engaged in research and community service, and pursue interdisciplinary collaboration with potential for external funding and contracts. The department expects a collaborative, engaged, student-centered approach to performance and responsibilities. For more information about the Department of Social Work, please visit https://socialwork.mtsu.edu/.Required EducationA terminal degree (PhD, DSW or equivalent) in social work AND a Master of Social Work from a CSWE accredited program are required by the appointment date.Required Related ExperienceAn equivalent of two (2) years of post-master's social work practice paid or volunteer experience is required. The applicant must clearly identify their post-master's social work practice experience in the curriculum vitae, which may include practice with individuals, families, groups, or communities, in policy or advocacy roles and other applicable settings connected to social work practice.
