If that sounds like an environment in which you will thrive, Carpenter Co. could be a great fit for you!Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Molding Operator in the molded foam department on 1st shift [6:00am - 2:00pm] at our Elkhart, Indiana foam manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for preparing molds for molding production, trims flash off molded parts coming out of mold, and places part on overhead conveyor. The hourly pay rate for this position is $23.93 to $24.85 per hour. Plus an additional $2.00 per hour shift premium for working 2nd shift.Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to work within a normal production environment with interaction and communication with fellow employees, operator/lead person and area supervisor. This position may also involve performing other positions in department.Additional Responsibilities of the Molding Operator will include:Carefully remove parts from the moldPlace HR parts on the conveyorPlace all Visco parts on the Monorail pansNotify management of any problems (defects) seen with the partsClean excess flash and any foam that is sticking to the tools (molds)Lead co-workers in safety and production and be an active participant on the team.Learn to diagnose foam issues and troubleshoot production equipment problems.Perform all of the Lead Person's duties in his/her absence.Count scrap and maintain appropriate records.Fill tanks as necessary to ensure that they have an adequate supply.Skills/ RequirementsHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree Required.Entry Level with 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.Must be able to work at a fast pace.Basic math and have basic computer knowledge.Safely and efficiently operator a forklift.Must be able to lift 50 pounds.Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.Must be able to stand for 8 - 10 hours each shift.Carpenter Co. conducts pre-employment drug testing on all applicants that receive and accept a written offer of employment.Carpenter Co. offers a comprehensive benefits package including excellent health insurance, generous profit sharing plan, and much more.
