Job Description: Metro Gas (ARCO) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Gas Station Manager to oversee daily operations at our Boyle Heights location. The Gas Station Manager will be responsible for ensuring the station's smooth functioning, maintaining high standards of customer service, managing staff, and optimizing store performance. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with strong organizational skills and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee all aspects of gas station operations, including fuel sales, convenience store sales, and inventory management. Monitor fuel inventory levels, coordinate deliveries, and ensure fuel dispensers are functioning properly. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment inside the store and in the surrounding areas, including the fuel pumps and parking lot. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to fuel sales, health, safety, and environmental standards. Staff Supervision and Development: Recruit, train, and supervise gas station staff, including attendants and store clerks. Create and manage employee schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels for all shifts. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills. Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on exceptional customer service. Customer Service and Sales: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally. Oversee store merchandising and promotional activities to maximize sales and profitability. Implement and monitor effective sales strategies, including upselling and cross-selling products. Financial Management: Manage daily financial operations, including cash handling, sales reports, deposits, and reconciliation of cash drawers. Monitor store expenses, reduce costs, and maximize profitability by implementing cost-control measures. Analyze sales and performance data to identify trends, set targets, and develop action plans for improvement. Inventory and Stock Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels for both fuel and store merchandise, ensuring timely ordering and restocking of products. Oversee inventory control processes, including regular stock audits, and manage vendor relationships to ensure the best pricing and quality of goods. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all employees adhere to safety protocols, including proper fuel handling, emergency shutoff procedures, and spill containment. Conduct regular safety inspections, maintain safety records, and address any identified risks or hazards. Stay current with industry regulations and implement any necessary changes to maintain compliance. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail management, gas station management, or a related field. Strong leadership skills with experience in staff supervision, training, and development. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle cash, balance registers, and manage financial reports accurately. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and point-of-sale (POS) systems. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
