Senior Project ManagerWe are hiring a Senior Project Manager! This role is well-suited for a delivery leader with deep experience across both Agile and waterfall methodologies, who thrives in fast-moving, highly visible environments.Location: Remote (Merrifield, VA preferred for occasional onsite meetings)Assignment Type: Contract OnlyDuration: Approximately 9 MonthsRole OverviewYou'll own projects from concept through deliveryshaping plans, aligning stakeholders, navigating risk, and driving teams toward meaningful results. The ideal candidate is proactive, decisive, and accountable, with a strong ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-team initiatives from planning through executionDevelop clear project plans, milestones, and deliverables aligned to business objectivesDrive execution by coordinating cross-functional teams, tracking progress, and ensuring accountabilityEnsure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budgetIdentify, manage, and mitigate risks while resolving cross-organizational obstaclesLead work in an Agile delivery environment, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectivesPartner closely with product owners, technical leads, and development teams to prioritize and execute workUtilize Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage backlogs, track work items, and monitor delivery metricsServe as the central point of communication for stakeholders, providing clear updates on progress, risks, and decisionsMentor and guide team members to support strong delivery practices and continuous improvementQualifications15+ years of experience managing complex projects or programsAt least 5 years in Agile deliveryAt least 5 years in traditional waterfall deliveryProven experience leading enterprise-scale, multi-team initiativesHands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog management and work trackingStrong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesPMP certification requiredScrum Master certification required (CSM or SAFe SM)Experience supporting enterprise technology or digital delivery teamsThe pay rate for this position is between $70.00 and $80.00 per hour.
