Position PurposeAdmissions Student Employees play a vital role in supporting the recruitment of prospective students to Hocking College. Through their firsthand experience attending classes, living on campus, and participating in student activities, they provide authentic insight into campus life and the student experience. Their personal perspective helps prospective students and families make informed decisions about enrolling at Hocking College.Serving as welcoming and knowledgeable representatives of the College, Admissions Student Employees are often the first point of contact for visitors and callers. They assist with daily front office operations while maintaining a positive, professional, and customer-focused demeanor. This role requires strong communication skills, enthusiasm for Hocking College, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service in all interactions.II. Duties and ResponsibilitiesWarmly greet guests, prospective students, and families, and answer questions about the College and campus life.Answer incoming phone calls, provide accurate information, and direct calls using proper transfer procedures.Take and relay messages for multiple departments as needed.Schedule campus visits and coordinate tour appointments.Conduct informative, engaging campus tours for prospective students and their families, highlighting academic programs, housing, student resources, and campus facilities.Assist with campus recruitment events, including Quick Starts, move-ins, open houses, and other Admissions-sponsored events.Support event check-ins and guide visitors to appropriate campus locations.Respond to email inquiries promptly and professionally.Perform general office management tasks, including filing, copying, preparing materials, and organizing recruitment packets.Utilize the Hocking College website and electronic systems effectively.Maintain knowledge of campus departments, staff contacts, and key locations.Deliver exceptional customer service in all interactions while representing the College in a professional and enthusiastic manner.III. Qualifications - Education, Experience, and SkillsMust be currently enrolled as a Hocking College student for the Fall semester.Must be a second-year student.Must meet federal requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.Demonstrate a positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude.Customer service experience preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated professionalism in email etiquette and correspondence.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.Reasonable accommodations may be requested and reviewed according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
