Intern - Special Events
Fifth Third Park, home of the Hub City Spatanburgers, is currently looking for eager, hard-working individuals to join the team for the second half of 2026!Our goal is to provide real hands-on experience that can be used to land leading roles within special events within a professional sports industry. The Special Events Intern will assist in the selling, planning, coordination, and execution of non-game day events at the ballpark, including corporate outings, community events, private rentals, and more. This hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in event management within the dynamic environment of Minor League Baseball - primarily on planning and execution on special events held at the stadium.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with on-site event operations for non-baseball events at Fifth Third Park.Support event processes including but not limited to client walkthroughs, pre-event planning, set-up, execution, and tear down.Participate in internal meetings, venue tours, and client communications as needed.Help gather and maintain event details to ensure all necessary departments have accurate event information.Help manage event inventory and suppliesAssist with other duties assigned, including helping other internal departments with events and/or home games and tarp pulls as neededRepresent the Spartanburgers professionally and enthusiastically in all interactions with clients, partners, vendors and fansQualifications:Pursuing a degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Sports Management, or a related fieldAvailable to work flexible hours, including nights and weekendsExcellent communication, organization, and time management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamComfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environmentAbility to lift up to 30 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods during events.Previous event or customer service experience is a plusPerks:Exposure to event sales, planning, and execution in a professional sports environment.Networking opportunities with industry professionalsBehind-the-scenes access to ballpark operations and eventsA fun, engaging atmosphere with a team committed to community and fan engagement.Job Title: Intern - Special EventsReports To: Manager, Special EventsLocation: Spartanburg, SCHours: Full-time; includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededStart/End Dates: July - December (flexible based on academic calendar)Compensation: College credit (if applicable) and hourly wage; housing not providedWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.Job Questions:Are you located in the Spartanburg area?
