In this hands-on role, you will gain experience with project controls and communications as well as get exposure to the technical aspects of constructing a project. This position is the initial step in developing the managerial and communication skills for project management.ResponsibilitiesGeneral Contract and Subcontract administrationMonitor/document job-site safety and accident preventionConstruction schedulingProcurement and expediting of material and equipmentMechanical, electrical and piping systems coordinationShop drawing/submittal review and coordinationProject cost review, reporting, updating and accountingReview of subcontractor applications for paymentParticipation in/documentation of project coordination meetingsSupervision/coordination of subcontractors’ field installationsReview/negotiate change proposal pricing from subcontractors and prepare change proposal pricing for self-performed workChange order documentation and associated cost reporting and maintenanceResearch and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipmentMaintenance of As-Built plansQuality control and project closeoutQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering requiredGeneral knowledge of construction principles/practices requiredStrong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment requiredMust be geographically mobile and able to relocate within the region Construction internship or other related construction work experience preferredMcCarthy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
