Position Title: Director of Career Curriculum and InstructionDepartment: Office of Career Programs and Employer RelationsReports To: Senior Director of Career Programs and Employer RelationsPosition SummaryThe Director of Career Curriculum and Instruction oversees the university-wide career and vocation curriculum, hiring and supporting adjunct instructors, and collaborating with university stakeholders to enhance career exploration and professional skill development. Reporting to the Senior Director of Career Programs and Employer Relations, this position plays a key role in scaling and refining Dominican's core career curriculum. This role requires occasional nights and weekends and travel may be required.Duties/Responsibilities In partnership with the Senior Director of Career Program and Employer Relations, the Director of the Core Curriculum, the Career Programs team, faculty, and Deans in Dominican University’s colleges and academic programs:Maintain and refine the career and vocation curriculum for the Career and Vocation courses (CV 100, 200, 300 and 400) and the Career Practicum courses (CP 355, 365) in consultation with the Director of the Core Curriculum, the Director of the Honors Program, and other facultyManage over 40+ sections of career and vocation courses each semesterUpdate the curriculum each summer, in collaboration with the Senior Director of Career Programs and Employer Relations, career and vocation instructors, faculty from Dominican’s academic programs across colleges, the Directors of the Core Curriculum and the Honors Program, and other university stakeholdersConduct and monitor university and Career Programs course evaluations each semesterContribute to ongoing assessment and evaluation of the effectiveness of the career and vocation courses as part of Dominican University’s core curriculumServe on the Core Curriculum CommitteeIn collaboration with the Director of the Core Curriculum, CPER Office Manager, and the Deans of each college:Recommend career and vocation adjunct instructors for hireSupport gathering and maintaining complete faculty files for each adjunct instructorOnboard, train and support career and vocation adjunct instructorsCoordinate the career and vocation course schedule each semester and communicate with the Registrar’s Office and other key stakeholdersManage assessment and evaluation data collection for career and vocation courses and assist in presenting data and other information to internal and external audiences.Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisorsRequired QualificationsMaster’s degree5+ years of experience in career development, employer relations, or similar roleBroad community or university experience and commitment to working with Hispanic, low-income, first-generation, and/or other under-represented students and services that fit their needsDemonstrated experience with curriculum management, instructional design, and pedagogyExperience collaborating with senior leaders and a wide range of internal (e.g., students, faculty, staff, and administrators) and external (e.g., employer partners, diverse professional associations, and executive-level corporate leaders) constituents at a complex organizationStrong cross-cultural communication skills preferred to support engagement with diverse populations. knowledge, skills, abilitiesAbility to develop, organize, and independently manage a variety of projects simultaneously and meet all required deadlinesProficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite: OneDrive, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPointProficiency in use of relevant technologies (e.g., Learning Management systems [LMS] such as Canvas, Payroll Management systems [Paycor], Career Management systems [CMS] such as Handshake and UConnect, Applicant Tracking systems [ATS], and Customer Relations Management systems [CRM])Physical DemandsAbility to spend long durations of the workday sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at timesNote: accommodations will be made for candidates who do not meet these physical demandsSalary and FLSA StatusSalary: $77,000 - $80,000FLSA Status: Exempt, full-time, 37.5 hoursBenefitsComprehensive health, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement plan with employer matchingProfessional development opportunities.Tuition remission for employees and their dependentsApplication Instructions Submit a cover letter and CVApplication review will begin immediatelyEmployment at Dominican University is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation.About Dominican UniversityDominican University is a Catholic, comprehensive teaching university located in River Forest, a suburb of Chicago, with an additional campus in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago.
