Hamleys Western Store Saddle Repair Job Category: Saddle Leather Requisition Number: HAMLE002291 Full-Time On-site Hamley & Co Pendleton, OR 97801, USA Job Details Description WAGE RANGE: $20.00-$30.00 OPEN UNTIL FILLED: 1ST PULL DATE, MARCH 30, 2026 JOB SUMMARY Responsible for providing western saddlery for the Hamley store including dismantling and rebuilding used saddles that meet Hamley's quality standards. Experienced leather craftsperson. Skilled with saddle-making equipment and tools. Will make saddle repairs including dismantling, making saddle parts, and refinishing as required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : Provide Hamley's saddles and leather goods, tack, etc. that meet the quality standards and traditions of the Hamley's brand. Dismantle used saddles, cut replacement leather to fit, and replace. Major rebuilds of saddles to include broken saddle trees, torn skirts, worn stirrup leathers, and fenders. Promotes efficient, cost-effective use of leather supplies and goods. Responsible for assisting the saddle maker in the production of Hamley's saddles as identified by business schedule and retail needs. Keeps supervisor apprised of supply and equipment needs. Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc. Will assist with inventory control following established procedures and assisting with quarterly inventory as assigned. Provide guidance and support to other leather workers and apprentices. Promptly reports all concerns to the supervisor. Other related duties as assigned by supervisor. ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS : Saddle Shop MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Demonstrate skill and knowledge of dismantling and rebuilding a saddle. Demonstrate skill with leather stamping, sewing with precision, carving, and finishing. Will stand for long periods, lift bulky items to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive motions with arms, wrists, hands, and fingers. Effective communication skills, verbally providing information when responding to questions, and good interpersonal skills and abilities. Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests. Requires a criminal history background check. Must be at least 18 years of age. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Provide a history of previous work on western saddles and other leather goods that meet the quality standards and traditions of the Hamley brand.
