Powertrain Engineer (Model-Based Development)

About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated Powertrain Engineer with experience in MATLAB, Simulink, and Model-Based Development (MBD) to support the development, validation, and optimization of powertrain control systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop control algorithms, simulate system behavior, and support software integration activities for engine, transmission, hybrid, or electrified powertrain applications.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain control system models using MATLAB/Simulink.Design, implement, and validate powertrain control algorithms using Model-Based Development (MBD) methodologies.Perform model simulation, testing, and verification to ensure compliance with system requirements.Generate production-ready code using automatic code generation tools.Support calibration, integration, and validation activities for powertrain control systems.Analyze system performance and troubleshoot control software issues.Collaborate with software, systems, validation, and calibration engineers.Participate in requirement reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions.Create and maintain technical documentation, test reports, and model documentation.Support SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), MIL (Model-in-the-Loop), and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing activities.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in:Mechanical EngineeringElectrical EngineeringMechatronics EngineeringAutomotive EngineeringComputer EngineeringRelated Engineering Discipline1–4 years of experience in Powertrain Controls, Embedded Systems, or Model-Based Development.Strong experience with:MATLABSimulinkStateflowModel-Based Design methodologiesUnderstanding of powertrain systems including:Engine ControlsTransmission ControlsHybrid Powertrain SystemsElectrified Powertrain SystemsExperience with testing and validation tools.Preferred QualificationsExperience with:Embedded C ProgrammingAUTOSARVector CANoe/CANalyzerdSPACE ToolsETAS INCAHIL/SIL/MIL TestingKnowledge of automotive communication protocols:CANLINEthernetFamiliarity with software development lifecycle processes.Understanding of automotive standards and quality processes.Technical SkillsMandatory SkillsMATLABSimulinkStateflowModel-Based Development (MBD)Powertrain ControlsRequirement AnalysisControl Systems EngineeringGood to HaveEmbedded CAUTOSARCAN ToolsETAS INCAdSPACEHIL TestingGit/Version ControlSoft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and within a team environment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.What We OfferOpportunity to work on advanced automotive powertrain technologies.Exposure to Model-Based Development and embedded software development lifecycle.Collaborative engineering environment.Career growth and technical development opportunities.
