Instructional Assistant FLOATER - 24/25 School Year

Tilly is looking for dedicated, compassionate professionals to provide in-school instruction, care, and supervision for students with special needs as substitutes/floaters. Under the direction of a special education teacher, you will perform a variety of duties related to the instruction and care of special needs students in your assigned school. Working with students individually or in small groups, you will ensure that students meet their specific instructional and health-related goals in a safe, nurturing classroom environment.

What You’ll Do:
As a SUBSTITUTE, you'll be subbing for Instructional Assistants that are unable to make it to work that day.
Cover for assignments that could be at any school in the district, including elementary, middle or high school (you may be assisting at any or all of these locations)
Assist in the instruction of individual and small groups of students, reinforcing lessons and instructions provided by the teacher
Monitor and maintain the health and safety of students with chronic and acute health needs
Support the teacher in developing and preparing lessons and classroom materials
Assist the teacher in maintaining appropriate order and student conduct; respond to student disruptions, utilizing approved behavior modification and intervention techniques in accordance with established policies and procedures
Assist speech and physical therapists, psychologists, adaptive physical education teachers and other specialists with physical development activities
Support the teacher with implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through instruction in a variety of activities; attend IEP meetings to provide and obtain information about your students
What You Bring:
High-school degree or equivalent (AA or higher would be a plus)
Childcare experience (nanny, babysitter, mentor, tutor, coach, counselor)
Creative problem solver in dynamic environments
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment
Ability to walk, run, stand for long periods, kneel, crawl, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
Reliable car, proof of auto insurance, and valid driver’s license required
A desire to help others gain valuable life skills and use that as motivation for your own advancement
