Computer Systems Engineer
We are seeking a Computer Systems Engineer II to participate in computer systems and automation project teams responsible for designing, purchasing, implementing, and supporting industrial systems across multiple manufacturing locations. This role will collaborate closely with plant operations to troubleshoot system issues, maintain high-availability environments, and support the Controls Team through standardized code libraries, virtualization management, and systems integration initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement computer-based systems supporting manufacturing equipment, automation, and engineering processesDevelop and maintain interfaces between PLCs, machines, sensors, databases, and enterprise systemsSupport industrial control systems, SCADA platforms, and HMI applicationsPerform network design and upgrades in alignment with IT security standards and best practicesTroubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, virtualization, and network-related system issuesSupport data acquisition, visualization, reporting, and analytics for manufacturing operationsMaintain, back up, document, and troubleshoot virtual machines and ESXi server environmentsLead and support continuous improvement initiatives involving HMI, UI, ERP, and plant system integrationsInstall and maintain distributed control systems company-wideCollaborate with engineering, IT, vendors, and manufacturing teams to optimize system performance and reliabilityProvide technical support to facilities worldwideRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems, or related field; equivalent experience considered2–7 years of control systems or computer systems engineering experienceFamiliarity with Allen Bradley PLC systems including PLC5, SLC, and ControlLogixExperience with HMI platforms such as FactoryTalk and Ignition preferredStrong programming skills in Python, C, SQL, Java, and CSSExperience supporting systems with strict uptime and reliability requirementsStrong database design and management experience with MS SQL ServerStrong understanding of networking and network security best practicesExperience with VMware Workstation and ESXi virtualization platformsKnowledge of VLANs, spanning tree, IP routing, and Layer 2/3 networking conceptsFamiliarity with OPC-UA, MQTT, and Kepware preferredStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical environmentsBenefits HighlightsStrong 401(k) plan with up to 4% company match plus an additional automatic 3% company contributionCompany-funded HSA contributions of up to $2,000 annually for family coveragePreventive medical care and many preventive prescriptions covered at 100% in-networkEarn up to $400 yearly through wellness programs and healthy activity incentivesCompany-paid life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverageTuition reimbursement available for undergraduate and graduate coursework related to career growthSalary: $110K - $120K#EEM
