We offer comprehensive career development and training opportunities.Job Summary:This senior level engineer will serve in a lead technical role on design projects and will lead or perform complex planning, analysis and design for all civil/highway aspects of transportation projects, including roadways, stormwater management, and utilities. Other duties may include client presentations, proposal preparation, estimating project costs, contract negotiations, and overseeing and ensuring that project quality, schedule, and budget requirements are met.He or she must be familiar with civil design methods and have competence with design software such as InRoads, OpenRoads and Civil3D along with CAD programs such as AutoCad and Microstation. Familiarity with AASHTO codes and standards for NYSDOT and NJDOT or similar agency codes is required. Must be able to multi-task and capable of leading or working with other technical design staff in a multi-discipline team environment and participate in day-to-day design activities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesServe as Discipline Lead for civil and roadway engineering projects.Lead and coordinate technical activities on transportation engineering assignments, ensuring project goals are met within established scope, schedule, and budget parameters.Perform and oversee civil and roadway design, including horizontal and vertical alignments, grading, drainage, and related elements.Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports in accordance with applicable standards and agency requirements.Coordinate with internal teams, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.Ensure designs comply with current local, state, and federal standards, including DOT requirements.Support projects delivered under Design‑Build or alternative delivery methods, as applicable.Skills and ExpertiseStrong expertise in civil and roadway design principles and transportation engineering practices.Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage discipline‑specific deliverables.Proficient in MicroStation and AutoCAD for design and plan development.Solid understanding of current engineering standards and design criteria.Effective written and verbal communication skills for report writing and coordination.Experience with Design‑Build project delivery is a plus.Qualifications RequiredBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (required).Professional Engineer (PE) license required; New York and/or New Jersey licensure preferred.Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive, demonstrated experience in civil/roadway design and plan development.Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating engineering design efforts on transportation projects.
