Control Systems is a leading low-voltage systems integration contractor specializing in cutting-edge technologies. We are seeking a skilled Data Cable Technician to join our team.
Position Overview: As a Data Cable Technician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, termination, testing, and maintenance of information and communications technology (ICT) cabling systems within commercial building structures. Your expertise in copper cabling and fiber, including CAT6, will contribute to the success of our projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and terminate copper/fiber cables for voice, data, and video applications.
Conduct assessments and surveys to determine cabling requirements.
Pull, route, and secure cables.
Perform testing and troubleshooting on copper/fire cabling systems.
Maintain accurate documentation of job site activities.
Collaborate with project teams, including Sales, Design, and Engineering.
Qualifications:
BICSI Certification is a Plus.
Proficiency in using hand tools for cable installation.
Strong knowledge of TIA/EIA standards, CEC/NEC, and relevant codes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with low-voltage systems and associated technologies.
Technical competence in Commscope, Panduit, Leviton products
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Willingness to work in varying conditions, including outdoor and elevated settings.
