Jackson Memorial is an accredited, tertiary teaching hospital with 1,500 licensed beds, where nearly every medical specialty is provided by some of the world's most skilled and highly regarded multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.SummaryClinical Social Worker, MSW is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of special research studies related to the provisions of social services, counseling, leadership and policy development while working with adult and pediatric patients.The functions both within the hospital setting and in the satellite clinics.ResponsibilitiesWorks collaboratively with interdisciplinary staff to design and implement appropriate treatment plans, including discharge plans. Provides professional counseling and therapeutic intervention to patients and/or families utilizing age specific treatment modalities.Collaborates with community agencies which provide services for patients and their families. Leads or co-leads patients groups as needed.Submits statistical reports as required. Participates in orientation and training of social work and interdisciplinary staff.Participates on research projects as required for program planning and evaluation.Maintains current knowledge of social work practice including specific knowledge of age related bio-psychosocial issues.Participates in Committees as assigned. Supervises students. Provides coverage as assigned. Participates in hospital, departmental and unit meetings.Performs other related duties as required.Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).ExperienceGenerally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.EducationMaster's degree in Social Work is required.CredentialsBLS certification is required only for staff who provide bedside care or perform physical clinical interventions with patients
