*Job Summary:*
The CNC Programmer - Level 1 programs CNC machines from the CAD models and drawings provided by Engineering and Production, reporting to the Machining & Turning Supervisor. This role programs the 3-axis mills and standard lathes, optimizes programs for efficient tool usage, cycle time, and reliable part quality, documents every program in the DeWalch program documentation system, and assists Machining & Turning at the machines to ensure setups are done correctly, while training toward Level 2.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
Specific responsibilities include:
● Write CNC programs for 3-axis mills and standard lathes from the CAD models and drawings provided by Engineering and Production.
● Select the appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds for efficient tool usage, cycle time, and reliable part quality.
● Program parts to the specifications outlined in the drawing.
● Prove out the programs you write at the machine, making adjustments through first article approval.
● Assist Machining & Turning at the machines to ensure setups are done correctly and programs are followed as written.
● Support the Machining & Turning Associates as they set up fixturing and prove new programs through first article approval.
● Troubleshoot program issues at the machine with guidance from a Level 2 or Level 3 Programmer.
● Document every program, setup sheet, and tool list completely and correctly following the DeWalch program documentation system.
● Clock into work orders and enter work-related data in DMS, and log maintenance issues.
● Keep a clean and organized work area and comply with PPE/safety requirements.
● Support and participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001:2015 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives.
● Understand the implications of not conforming to QMS requirements.
● Other duties as assigned.
*REQUIREMENTS*
*EDUCATION AND TRAINING*
● High school diploma or GED preferred.
*EXPERIENCE*
● Machining experience or vocational machining training is required.
● Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment a plus.
*KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS*
● Proficiency in Mastercam for 3-axis milling and standard lathe programming, and working knowledge of SolidWorks, is required.
● Able to interpret CAD models and drawings, program parts to the provided specifications, and prove out the programs you write.
● Understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining math.

*3.5 PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS*
● Work is performed primarily on the production floor at the machines.
● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; hoists and lifting aids are used for heavier tooling and fixtures.
● Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods (8-10 hours per day).

● Must be able to comply with any safety or PPE requirements.
● Exposure to production environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
