Architect - QSR and POS.

Role: Architect Location: Dallas, TX Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Architect with strong expertise in QSR and Retail environments, particularly with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, hardware integrations, and enterprise-level architecture. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical depth combined with leadership in solution design, system integration, and performance optimization. Core Responsibilities:8–10 years of experience in QSR and Retail industry with strong understanding of POS systems and store operations.Strong functional knowledge of POS platforms and upstream/downstream system integrations.Experience with hardware integrations including payment terminals, QR scanners, printers, and other POS peripherals.Ability to design and implement scalable, high-performance, and extensible solutions through hands-on development.Lead technical investigations, provide effort/cost estimates, and support architectural decision-making.Strong ownership mindset with ability to drive results and meet high performance standards.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to evaluate data from multiple sources and identify solutions. Mandatory Technical Skills:Proficiency in C# .NET development, including Web API and WCF services.Hands-on scripting experience with PowerShell and shell scripting.Strong understanding of Windows OS internals, WIM imaging, PXE/BIOS/UEFI boot processes, and system provisioning.Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, systemd, and basic administration (preferred).Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (K3s, GKE), and containerized application management.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and DevSecOps practices.Experience with imaging tools such as MDT/SCCM, and deployment using WDS/iPXE.Strong networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, domain controllers, and switching concepts.Knowledge of hardware interfaces including printers, scanners, payment devices, USB/serial/parallel ports, RAID storage, and memory systems.Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or JIRA. Preferred / Optional Skills:Experience in application support or production support environments.ITIL framework knowledge and experience in multi-vendor/multi-tenant environments.Strong background in application support with SLA adherence.Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in fast-paced environments.
