This posting may close once a sufficient number of qualified applications have been received.Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekendsFLSA status: ExemptEarliest Start Date: As soon as possible.Salary: $40,800 annuallyRequired Application Materials Resume List of three references Position SummaryPosition Summary: The Building Operations Coordinator is responsible for the venue's overall set-up, presentation, and functionality. This dynamic leader will oversee a part-time team for Event Operations and other contracted service providers, and/or vendors. This role is heavily involved in all the details of performing and event. This role is performed at a high level, with attention to detail, and exceptional communication skills between varying levels of professionals.Statement Of Duties And ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Duties Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and working conditions to increase efficiency of department, or work crew.Approaches day to day duties with a maximum efficiency attitude to achieve goals in a practical and cost- efficient mannerInitiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.Analyzes anticipated problems and appropriate solutions.Event Operations ResponsibilitiesSupervise and develop the event operations staff facilitating greater efficiency and ensuring well organized and thoroughly planned and executed events.Supervise event operations staff members and vendor labor including but not limited to court installations, stage builds, gate/ADA set ups, table set ups, catering set ups, bike rack set ups, and locker room support.Ensure personnel and staff compliance with venue policy and procedure. Implementing strategic inventory and tracking systems to streamline best operational processes.Schedule, administer, record and report safety meetings with the event operations staff.Create and communicate equipment needs lists to streamline ordering and ongoing repairs of event equipment.Ensure all operational tasks are completed in a timely fashion strictly adhering to all event specific timelines.Support varying teams and event manager needs in event requests.Ensure proper set up and inspect that areas are set-up to expectation, including court, stage decks, ADA sections, basketball rims/stanchions and other areas.Assist with any furniture moving in the building.Partners with leadership to Support employee growth and development through coaching, career planning, training opportunities, and performance management initiatives.Work closely with the Building Services team (including contractor ABM), supporting UTEP Departments, etc. to ensure fluid operations.Ability to have oversight for overnight transitions as needed.Other ResponsibilitiesAssist with Forklift needs and training as necessaryOngoing reporting of NCAA requirementsWork with other operation management to plan and execute programsOversight of inventory, including assistance with the annual inventory process.Assist with university special projects or new programs as required.Carries a two-way radio and cell phoneMust be available for "On-Call Duty."Attends bi-weekly supervisor meetings.Interprets and translates company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations by conducting safety meetings.Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systemsComplies with all State and University policies.Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's objectives, policies and applicable laws.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Required QualificationsEducation: High School DiplomaandExperience: (4) Four years of experience, related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Forklift Certification (Or able to obtain)Must possess a valid TX driver’s license.Preferred QualificationsExcellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills.Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to effectively motivate and supervise staffAbility to communicate well with others on a supervisory level and in a general work situation.Ability to work under high pressure in meeting urgent deadlines.Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.Must have high physical stamina for high demand eventsBasic building maintenance knowledgeAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationship with users, employees, and the public and to conduct meetings as required.Ability to work long, irregular hours as dictated by programming.Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.Ability to work irregular/extended hours, including night, weekend and holidays as required.To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some computer experience.
