Director, Discovery (AI TechBio Platform)
We are partnering with an innovative TechBio organization leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to transform the drug discovery process. This individual will play a key leadership role in developing and implementing AI-driven strategies that accelerate target identification, therapeutic design, candidate optimization, and translational decision-making.The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in computational sciences with a strong understanding of biology, chemistry, or drug development. This role will work closely with multidisciplinary teams spanning machine learning, software engineering, computational biology, medicinal chemistry, and experimental sciences to advance a cutting-edge therapeutic pipeline.Key Responsibilities:Lead the development and execution of AI/ML strategies across drug discovery programsDrive the application of machine learning, predictive modeling, and data science to biological and chemical datasetsPartner with biology, chemistry, and engineering teams to translate computational insights into actionable experimental outcomesEvaluate and implement emerging AI technologies to enhance discovery workflowsBuild and mentor high-performing computational and data science teamsGuide program strategy from target discovery through lead optimization and candidate selectionPresent scientific findings and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and external stakeholderQualifications:PhD in Computational Biology, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, Statistics, Chemistry, or a related discipline8+ years of industry experience within TechBio, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or AI-driven life sciences organizationsDemonstrated experience applying machine learning to drug discovery, biological data, or therapeutic developmentStrong technical expertise in Python, machine learning frameworks, and large-scale data analysisExperience leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced research environmentsProven ability to bridge computational and experimental disciplinesPreferred Experience:Generative AI and foundation modelsComputational biology and bioinformaticsMulti-omics analysisProtein engineering and antibody discoveryStructure-based drug designCheminformatics and molecular modelingTranslational science and biomarker developmentThis opportunity is ideal for a leader passionate about harnessing AI to redefine how medicines are discovered, developed, and brought to patients.
