This position requires excellent customer service skills. This position is responsible for assuring that all hospital customers receive blood products as ordered, the transport of products is performed as efficiently and timely as possible, and that excellent customer service is delivered at all times. This position must work closely with the couriers to maintain customer satisfaction.Essential Functions Hospital Services Tasks:Ensures that all orders are filled and delivered in a timely mannerCoordinates routes and pickups to ensure timely processing and deliveryPerforms all procedures for the shipping and receiving of blood componentsAssists in inventory management and stock rotation of blood and blood componentsProvides support to hospital blood banks served by the blood centerPerforms modifications of blood products as expected (irradiation, washing, freezing, etc.)Works closely with couriers for most efficient routesWorks with others to fulfill the mission of The Blood ConnectionGeneral Work Practices:Practices good customer service relations with co-workers, clients, and the general publicOperates company vehicles in a safe mannerProduces accurate, precise, and legible documentationPerforms on-call duties as assignedPerforms housekeeping duties as needed to keep a clean and orderly work areaOther duties as assigned or requiredMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDValid Driver's License with no major infractions and dependable transportationAbility to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously to patrons, donors, sponsors, and co-workersAbility to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlinesAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and peers.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
