Assistant Purchasing Manager
======== Essential Job Functions ========
Issues purchase orders to suppliers based on the designated stock level and lead-time.
Assists department manager to manage all purchasing department personnel matters and
job performances
Maintains and analyzes order receiving records from different suppliers, including but not
limited to quality and quantities, and determines the best procurement option for the company.
Evaluates and assures the qualities of received items are consistent with purchase orders
Ensures product quality by sampling and customer feedback; addresses problems to suppliers
and resolves the issues.
Researches and selects prospective vendors and negotiates prices/contracts.
Coordinates with purchasing team to build and maintain relationships with suppliers; assures
the quality of products, timely delivery, and compliance of contracts are consistently addressed.
Sets up vendor numbers and item stock numbers in a timely manner.
Analyzes and forecasts product sales volume and market demands, and creates purchase orders
based on sales volume, demands, and inventory level
Assists department manager to manage all aspects of liquor, refrigerated, frozen, and dry food,
non-food purchases, including sourcing, price negotiations, transportation planning, and product
development.
Counts item inventory whenever the numbers are inconsistent to the warehouse inventory
records.
Frequently reviews inventory for discrepancies, large volume outbound orders, slow selling
items, and expired items and works with the warehouse for resolutions
Develops and executes purchasing strategies to support the organization's business objectives
Attends Company events and functions outside of normal working hours
Other duties as required
Obligation to answer to all upper management as requested

Able to sit and work in an office setting for the majority of the day
Able to use the computer and type for extended periods
Able to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 40 pounds occasionally

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in business preferred
3+ years of Japanese food purchasing experiences required

Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Possesses basic mathematical knowledge such as markups, discounts, counting inventory,
weight and measurement conversions, combining, etc.
Has strong customer service and problem-solving skills
Has strong communications and interpersonal skills
Demonstrates basic Microsoft Office proficiency

Knowledge of ERP systems
Knowledge of Japanese foods/non-food items and kitchen supplies
