Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Chiller Technician to join our team at a leading manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in industrial maintenance, HVAC/R systems, and electrical troubleshooting. This role involves maintaining and repairing chillers and related equipment, ensuring optimal operation, and providing exceptional customer service. The Senior Chiller Technician will also support field service activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold safety and quality standards.
Duties
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers, HVAC/R systems, and associated mechanical equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
Troubleshoot electrical issues involving high voltage, low voltage, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other precision measuring instruments.
Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to diagnose system faults and implement control solutions.
Operate and maintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, maintenance history, and inventory management.
Conduct welding operations, including welding, as needed for repairs or modifications.
Use hydraulic tools and systems to assist in component replacement or repair tasks.
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings for accurate troubleshooting and repairs.
Support installation projects involving HVAC systems, industrial mechanics, or electrical components.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to high voltage, low voltage, and other hazardous conditions.
Assist with technical sales support by providing expert advice on system upgrades or replacements.
Operate scissor lifts and other industrial equipment safely to access elevated or hard-to-reach areas.
Provide field service support for customer sites when required, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
Experience
Proven experience working in an industrial manufacturing facility or similar environment as a mechanic or technician.
Strong background in industrial maintenance with knowledge of HVAC/R systems, hydraulics, welding (including welding), electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CMMS software, schematics, and technical manuals.
Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams accurately.
Experience working with high voltage and low voltage electrical systems in a field service capacity is preferred.
Knowledge of industrial electrician practices combined with analysis skills for diagnosing complex system issues.
Military background or experience is considered a plus due to the discipline and technical expertise it provides.
