Looking for an opportunity to inspire, motivate and lead?GASP is an after school program serving Grattan Elementary School students. We are located on the school campus in Cole Valley. We work closely with the staff and families of the school to provide a collaborative team-based work environment where staff strive to create a fun, safe space where students can blossom socially, emotionally, and academically.Position Description:Under the supervision of our Site Directors, the After School Program Staff support the daily management of the program.Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Child Supervision: Work directly with students, supervise large and small groups of children, create and maintain a safe, healthy, fun and age appropriate learning environment.*Curriculum Planning: Actively engaged in planning and implementing developmentally healthy and holistic activities and curriculum for students daily.*Design, develop and implement theme & project-based learning projects that support students' academic and personal achievement.Facility Maintenance: Regularly inspect the school/program site and equipment for potential safety hazards; take corrective action to prevent injuries when necessary, and to participate in cleaning and maintaining the facilities and equipment daily.*Plan and coordinate field trips, parent events, and other school-wide eventsProvide strong systems and structures for students to transition between each component of the programCreate, follow up, and be consistent with behavioral management plans for whole group and individual studentsResponsible for ongoing communication both electronic & verbal with direct supervisor, program administrators, executive director in a timely manner*Lead enrichment classes (i.e. art, drumming, gardening) each semesterFood Handling: Assists with daily snack preparation, distribution, and cleanup.*Alert Supervisor to any programming concerns and discusses suggested program changes.*Provide overall support of the program, including support for field trips, special events and parent workshops;Respond to supervisory and peer feedback with a cooperative and reflective attitude with a willingness to adjust behaviors or practices as needed. *Actively participate in assigned clean up duties each day.Participate in staff development, team and supervision meetings.*Align execution of all job responsibilities with school day culture and standards.Communicate in a professional manner with all GASP stakeholders(families, students, SFUSD employees, GASP staff, outside agencies).*Perform other duties as assigned.*Compensation $24-29 an hour depending on experience and number of college ECE units.Public transit easily accessible in surrounding neighborhood.Street parking can be challenging, 2 hour parking limit in surrounding area, time to move cars during Program hours is available for those who need it.*Job Type: Part-timeBenefits:401(k)Employee assistance programWork Location: In person
