This role is responsible for deploying network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and cabling in customer environments while minimizing disruption to business operations.The technician will follow installation plans, coordinate with remote engineering teams, and ensure all equipment is installed, tested, and documented according to company and client standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall and rack network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and related hardwarePerform structured cabling installation and patching (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber where applicable)Mount and secure equipment in racks, cabinets, and network closetsFollow installation diagrams, work orders, and engineering documentationLabel and organize cabling according to standardsPerform basic network connectivity testing and validationCoordinate with remote engineers for configuration, troubleshooting, and verificationDocument work completed including photos, serial numbers, and installation notesEnsure installations meet safety, quality, and customer standardsMaintain tools and equipment required for network deploymentsCommunicate clearly with project managers and technical teams regarding project statusWork SchedulePrimarily overnight shifts to support customer maintenance windowsTypical hours may range from 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM depending on project requirementsSome travel may be required depending on client locationsRequired QualificationsExperience installing network hardware or IT infrastructureFamiliarity with rack and stack proceduresBasic understanding of network equipment (routers, switches, patch panels)Experience with structured cabling and labeling standardsAbility to follow technical diagrams and installation instructionsStrong attention to detail and organizationAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work in data center or equipment room environmentsReliable transportation and ability to work overnight schedulesPreferred QualificationsExperience working in data centers, telecom rooms, or enterprise IT environmentsKnowledge of fiber optic handling and patchingCompTIA Network+ , CCNA, or similar certificationsExperience supporting network deployments or infrastructure upgradesFamiliarity with ticketing systems or field service documentation toolsKey SkillsNetwork equipment installationRack and stack deploymentStructured cablingTroubleshooting and testingDocumentation and reportingCommunication and teamworkPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbsAbility to work in confined spaces such as server rooms or equipment closetsAbility to stand, bend, and climb ladders as requiredWhy Join UsWork on large-scale network deploymentsOpportunities to grow in network engineering and infrastructure rolesExposure to enterprise-level IT environmentsCompetitive compensation and project-based work opportunities
