Mechanical Fitter – Mackay WorkshopWe are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our Mackay Workshop team.About The RoleAs a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a key role in the stripping, assessment, refurbishment, repair and assembly of OEM mining and mineral processing equipment. Working within a safety-first environment, you will ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with FLS quality and workmanship expectations.This is a hands-on workshop-based role suited to someone who takes pride in delivering first-time quality outcomes and enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team environment.Your ResponsibilitiesStrip, assess, repair and refurbish mineral processing equipmentAssemble and install components in accordance with approved procedures and technical drawingsInspect equipment and identify wear, defects or required repairsComplete workshop documentation, including digital and paper-based reportsMaintain workshop cleanliness and adhere to all safety requirementsParticipate in on-the-job training and continuous improvement initiativesSupport FLSmidth’s strong commitment to safety, quality and teamworkAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:Trade qualificationPrevious workshop or mining equipment experienceStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsForklift licenceCurrent driver’s licenceDogman/Rigging High Risk Work Licence (desirable)Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanshipAbility to work effectively within a team environmentHigh level of physical fitness and a positive work ethicWhy Join FLSmidth?We value our people and are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and rewarding workplace.
