Trailer Mechanic

Job Description: Trailer Mechanic Capitol City Trailers is located in Southeast Columbus, Ohio and are a full line semi-trailer dealership and repair shop. Capitol City Trailers has been in business for 31 years and offers an excellent benefit package. The Trailer Mechanic installs & repairs all systems on Semi-Trailers. You will need to have a variety of hands on skills. You will need to know how to safely operate and maintain your equipment. Your hours will be full time, based on an agreed-upon schedule. Duties include: Installing & Repairing all systems on Semi-Trailers Installing various models of Lift gates & troubleshoot for repairs Installing truck bodies on chassis per customer specifications Removing and replacing brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races and associated parts Repairing electrical and lighting systems Repairing or replacing chassis components such as sprints, spring hangers, equalizers, complete slider assemblies, axles, and sub frames Repairing mud flap brackets and dolly leg assembles Repairing or replacing flooring, rub rails, doors and door trim Repairing roofs, panels, nose panels, lower and upper rails Welding & Fabricating Job Requirements: As a Capitol City Trailer Semi-Trailer Mechanic, you must meet the following criteria: Experience using hand and power tools Own a basic tool set Welding & Fabrication experience preferred Able to work in a shop environment Able to lift 50 pounds Reliable transportation Willingness to stay until the job is done Attention to detail in all aspects of the job Experience working on semi-trailers is preferred, but not necessary. While performing the duties of this job, you will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
