Key Job Elements
Minimum duties and responsibilities
Inspect Inbound Draft Gears for signs of distress, fire damage, missing, broken, lose or cracked housing;
Disassemble Draft Gear for thorough inspecting and routing;
Bring all weld specifications back to tolerance by welding department;
Paint Draft Gear housing;
Re assemble Draft Gear parts with new or requalified/reconditioned internal parts;
After inspection, Draft Gear is moved to test, to comply with AAR requirements;
When completed place Draft Gear on Pallet with strap and wrap;
Prepare to ship.
Education / Training
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications and Experience
Ability to communicate effectively to include reading and writing in English;
Mechanical aptitude and ability to read precision instruments and gauges;
Understand technical drawings and work instructions;
Capable of using hand and power tools, including Pneumatic tools;
Work around and operate overhead cranes;
Visual Acuity.
