Our nurses participate in a nursing care model that allows them to practice at the top of their scope and provide the highest quality of care and overall patient experience. Nurses on this unit also have a unique opportunity to be part of an organization that performs more than 400 procedures annually, including heart, lung, kidney, pancreas, liver, uterus, and multi-organ transplants. As the only liver transplant program in Alabama, the ABTX is part of the UAB Comprehensive Transplant Institute (CTI), one of the most active organ transplant centers in the nation. Additionally, UAB Medicine is one of the most active renal transplant centers in the southeast, for both living-donor and deceased-donor procedures.Job DescriptionTo assume responsibility for certain technical aspects of patient care as directed by the RN/LPN for the hospital. To obtain and record vitals, weight, inputs, and outputs. To successfully complete an in-house PCT training program. To demonstrate an awareness of patient and personal safety.QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED required.
