Thule has an exciting opportunity for an Automotive-dedicated Quality Engineer who will manage OEM customers and expectations for quality requirements. Manage supplier, internal and external quality issues with regards to OEM requirements. Manage environmental requests from customers and Thule products. Lead the implementing and maintenance of the ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016 quality management system in Seymour, Forest Park, Milford, and Granby; ISO 14001:2015 in Seymour, Forest Park and ISO 45001:2018 in Seymour, Forest Park, Granby, Calgary and Milford. Manage surveys and audit requests from customers. Own full documentation and updates to the QMS / EMS / H&S management systems. Manage environmental requests from customers and Thule products.ResponsibilitiesCreate/maintain, improve and implement documentation, logs and procedures in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001: 2018 standardsHelp develop/maintain a training program and training matrix for all departments to ensure ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 compliancePrepare PPAP and International Material Data System documentation for OEM customersDevelop methods and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation.Ensure that acceptance criteria for finished & semi-finished products are adequately defined and are being followed for OEM productsRepresent Quality in OEM project team meetingsAttend production meetings and report on quality concerns and issuesConduct and coordinate Internal ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 AuditsFacilitate FMEA’s, Risk Analysis and Core Quality toolsInitiate and follow up on initiated Engineering Change Order (ECO) processSupport Quality collecting and reporting on key metricsSupport environmental requests, customer surveys and requests Review and reduce scrap from manufacturing and input information into ERP systemCreate or improve and implement management systems, processes and programsLead person coordinating daily Quality activities for OEM customersDocument and analyze returned product and suggest quality/design improvementsConduct layered process audits with management of finished goods and report resultsConduct 1st piece/1st article inspections using surface plate inspection equipmentTrain and assist Quality Associates in assigned job functionsOther functions as required and assigned by supervisorRecommended RequirementsEngineering degree required, with 3-5 years of experienceGood understanding of Quality Systems development and implementation, auditing, goods sampling and inspection methods (including surface plate and comparator), quality tools and techniques, SPC/SQC, and ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001: 2018 standards.Experience with OEMs and portalsGood understanding of Lean Manufacturing and IMDS principlesComputer literate in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint). Knowledge of M3 system a plus.Self-motivated, action-oriented individualProven skills of multitasking and decision making. Good oral and written communication skillsWe believe in strong teamwork.
