We do this every day at Dollywood Resorts, which include over 600 rooms and 15 Food & Beverage outlets, all located in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Our plan is to increase our resort footprint to over 1200 rooms across five resorts at Dollywood and to add other resorts to our overall company resort portfolio.Ask anyone who has visited Dollywood Parks & Resorts, and they will tell you this place is different. The right Restaurant Supervisor will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.The Restaurant Supervisor is to provide an excellent dining experience for our guests through proper steps of service and maintain a great work environment for our fellow hosts and vendors. This is all to be done in a manner consistent with The Dollywood Company Mission & Values.Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.Summary Of Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesChecks with Front Desk for daily occupancy/forecast to ensure adequate staffing for the day, make adjustments as neededCreates all assignments for the shift to include section assignment, opening side work and closing side workAscertains the daily specials from kitchen and communicates them to the ServersEnsures Hosts meet established grooming standards on a daily basisInspects dining room, outdoor patio, and lounge for cleanliness, proper supply levels and proper staffing. During inspection ensure all tables are set correctly and the entire dining room is in the original established settingsMonitors workstations ensuring the server galley is organized, the expo line, and restaurants are clean throughout the service periodMonitors the restaurant and lounge checking on quality of service and food, cleanliness, staffing levels, quality of food and seating are meeting our expectations of our guestsMaintains a clean and sanitary environment in compliance with all local and federal health codesPerforms service, bartender, busser, runner, expeditor and host duties as requiredUses POS accurately and adjust checks using the established guidelines. Handles cash and card transactions as directed. Ensure Servers are the only ones using their Micros card and not allowing any other Host to use their Micros cardEnsures all cash handling procedures are verified and complete dailyParticipates and leads in upselling strategies as approved or directed by managementDistributes tips to Hosts that have earned themLeads and participates in daily stand upsAssists with staff instruction and coaches fellow Hosts in ensuring we are providing the highest quality of food product and following proper sequence of serviceResolves guest issues with food, beverage, service or timingFocuses on guest interaction during the shift with the expectation of visiting every table at least once during each meal period to ensure we have met the guest expectationsEnsures completion of opening and closing checklists to include all alcohol has been put up when the lounge closes for the eveningAssists with inventory procedures and issuing of alcoholEnsures that all alcohol storage is verified to be secure at the beginning and end of every shiftSupervises on-going job trainingMaintains effective communication by providing : direction, coaching, mentoring, correction, training, support and development of the staff through timely and specific feedback and recognitionMonitors team to ensure performance exceptions are metAssumes duties of Restaurant Manager in absence or as directedMust be willing to work in other disciplines within the department as directed by managementManagement reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any timeEducation And Experience RequiredRequires thorough knowledge of a specialized or technical fieldPrevious supervisory experience, Highly Preferred.High Diploma, RequiredThree Years of job-related experience, RequiredMust be able to obtain Serve Safe certification and ABC certificationMust be at least 18 years oldBasic computer knowledge and usage preferredMust pass a pre-employment background check and drug testDriver's license and acceptable driving record required if appointed authorized driverKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesMust display and live out Lead with Love qualities strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture by being patient, kind, humble, respectful, selfless, forgiving, honest, and committedAble to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employeesMay require operating knowledge of manufacturing or computer equipment, or may require broad knowledge in clerical or service areasMust be able to be productive in a fast-paced environmentMust maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidaysMust promote and support a “team” work environment by cooperating and helping co-workersMust be sensitive to the needs of our Guests and feel empowered to act to meet their needs within company guidelinesMust be able to utilize effective communication, problem solving, conflict management and interpersonal skillsMust have professional appearance with good personal hygieneAble to comprehend instructions and retain informationMust be committed to continuous improvementAble to perform duties consistently while creating a safe and secure environment for hosts and guestsMust maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged informationAble to be flexible to handle frequent changes in prioritiesMust be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basisAble to add, subtract, multiply and divide with accuracyMust be self-motivated and disciplinedAble to communicate effectively with Guests and Hosts using approved communication methodsAble to tolerate various temperatures while working outdoorsMay compile objective and measurable data and produce reportsAble to meet the physical demands of the jobMust reflect Dollywood’s image by being genuinely friendly and caring and by taking pride in workAble to lift up to 50 lbsPhysical And Cognitive RequirementsLifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours. Employees may also be required to travel to various areas on property which may include changes in terrain, stairs and uneven surfacesRepetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat.
