This career can launch you into the medical arena and ignite your passion for various fields in healthcare.Be part of our exceptional wheelchair team!About the RoleWork Location: On the road in and around the local Oceanport regionWe are seeking Transport Drivers who interchangeably function as Escorts / Aides to other Drivers. This position is responsible for aiding participants in "through the door" transportation to the health center, home, medical appointments, or other destinations as part of transportation services. The Transport Escort / Aide assumes responsibility for communications while the van is in motion and reporting any changes observed in the participant's condition.What You'll DoKey Tasks and ResponsibilitiesThe Transport Aide always delivers courteous and friendly consistent customer service in assisting clients to get in and out of the vehicle and walk them "through the door." They must make sure all items or any other devices are stored away properly. Transport Aides must promote safety to and from destinations in a safe manner. Applicants must have a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs. Transport Drivers drive the wheelchair equipped vehicles assisted by an Escort / Aide.QualificationsEducation & TrainingHigh school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.Valid state driver's license preferred but not required.Valid CPR/First Aid card is preferred but not required.Ideally, a minimum of 1 year working with a frail or elderly populationAides should be familiar with the driving region and the surrounding areas. Knowledge and ExperienceAbility to communicate in English both orally and in writingMust be physically able to perform strenuous tasks.Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions for a safe work environmentSkilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, medical staff, and the public.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
