Role Summary:
As a Material Handler, you'll play a key role in managing and organizing custom material orders in our yard. You’ll break down larger material packs, track inventory, and ensure that each order meets our quality standards. If you’re a self-starter who enjoys working outdoors and has a great eye for detail, this is the perfect role for you!
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Collaborate with various departments to fulfill custom shipping needs
Build custom pack sizes for outbound orders
Document material movement with our production control team
Inspect finished wood pieces for quality and remove damaged material
Consolidate materials into standard pack sizes
Apply barcodes using an air gun and verify labels
Maintain a clean and safe work environment following 6S principles
Perform daily equipment checks for safety and maintenance
Take on other production-related duties as needed
What You Bring to the Table:
Experience: Previous work with building materials, inventory, or in a lumber yard is a plus. Forklift experience required.
Tech Skills: Basic computer knowledge (MS Office) and familiarity with tools (e.g. chop saw) is an asset.
Physical Fitness: Ability to stand, bend, squat, lift, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality and accuracy in every task.
Strong Math Skills: Comfortable with basic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Team Player: A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others to meet team goals.
