Inside Sales Person
Position Overview
We are seeking an Inside Salesperson to support our outside sales team and customers by managing quotes, orders, and day-to-day sales activities related to steel plate processing. This role is critical to delivering accurate, timely quotes and ensuring a smooth handoff from customer inquiry to production.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Customer Support & Sales Coordination: Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, handling inquiries, orders, and follow-up communications. Support outside sales representatives by preparing quotes and managing customer requests.
· Quoting & Order Entry: Prepare accurate quotes based on customer drawings, specifications, and Steel Plate’s processing capabilities. Enter sales orders, verify material availability, pricing, and lead times, and ensure order accuracy.
· Collaboration with Operations: Coordinate closely with production and scheduling teams to confirm feasibility, lead times, and delivery expectations. Communicate changes or issues proactively to customers and sales team members.
· Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers through consistent communication and reliability. Follow up on quotes, open orders, and deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction.
· Administrative & Sales Support: Maintain accurate customer records, pricing, and job documentation. Assist with resolving billing, order discrepancies, and customer concerns in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Skills
1. Experience: 2–5 years of inside sales, customer service, or order management experience in manufacturing, steel, or industrial sales preferred.
2. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with steel plate, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
3. Technical Aptitude: Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, specifications, and customer requirements (training provided).
4. Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy in quoting, order entry, and documentation.
5. Communication Skills: Clear, professional communication with customers, sales teams, and internal departments.
6. Computer Skills: Comfortable working with ERP systems, quoting tools, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
7. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple quotes and orders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
