Aircraft Structures MechanicWe are seeking a skilled Aircraft Structures Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling aircraft sheet metal assemblies and subassemblies, including the mating of stress-critical joints. This position offers opportunities on both the 1st shift (7am-3:30pm) and 2nd shift (3:30pm-12:00am).ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation station sheets to determine the sequence of operations, fastener types, sizes, and hole patterns.Align and build assemblies and subassemblies on large, complex manufacturing jigs and fixtures.Countersink, dimple, ream, and chamfer holes on complex structural assemblies for various fasteners with minimal quality defects.Use hand and power tools effectively, including portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, and other necessary tools.Perform inspections and assessments, including analyzing scrap damage, corrosion, or wear and tear of structures.Troubleshoot and rework major discrepancies, serving as the primary contact for all repairs and modifications.Maintain designed tolerances, edge distances, and pitch per engineering requirements.Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and inspect holes and fastener tolerance.Apply sealants on structural components as per engineering requirements.Collaborate with the Production Supervisor and engineering teams to implement modifications and upgrades to improve performance and safety.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or GED required.Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints.Experience with new aircraft assembly.Capability to build new assemblies and manage inventory.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with forklifts and inventory management.Proficiency in data entry, cycle counts, and material handling.Familiarity with warehouse packing, RF scan guns, ERP systems, shipping, and receiving.Why Work Here?Join a rapidly growing company that values organization and cleanliness.
