May work independently or under immediate supervision. May serve as lead on routine projects of limited scope.This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.Essential FunctionsDevelop and Execute Hardware Engineering Solutions (70%)Support integration designs for DDC and PLC programmable controller-based control systems for one or more projectsSupport BAS controls and EPMS integrator shop drawing designDesign controls network / system architecture including IT / OT requirements and interface to match the application needsSupport selection of instrumentation, sensors, actuators, valves and other field devices and create Bill of materials (BOMs)Support designs for control panels including layout, control power, relay logic, and wiring diagramsReview project specificationsReview sequence of operationsWork with client IT departments to ensure safe and secure systems to meet best practicesConstruction Related Process, Deliverables and Submissions (15%)Review and submit deliverables per project requirements including shop drawings, product data, operations and maintenance manuals, and as-builtsParticipate in building automation focused design reviewsServe as client contact for one or more clients on projects of routine scopeParticipate in internal and external quality control and peer reviewsCoordinate with vendors for product specifications, pricing and availabilityParticipate in internal and external project meeting discussions on engineering scopeReporting and Communication (15%)Contribute to project communication and reportingPrepare development of project progress reports for internal and external stakeholdersManage personal hours using company toolsCompletion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on BudgetPerforms Other Related Duties as AssignedPosition Requirements (intermediate Level For All The Following)Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file managementKnowledge of Revit and AutoCADSkilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detailKnowledge of IoT or smart building solutionsKnowledge of VLANs, LANs, VPNs or RSTPKnowledge of OT protocols (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP and MQTT)Knowledge of Distech, Tridium, Honeywell DDC, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider PLC hardware platformsAbility to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovationAbility to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspaceAbility to follow company and site safety requirementsAbility to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondenceAbility to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervisionAbility to work under pressure and meet close deadlinesAbility to achieve certification for NFPA70E and / or OSHA training as / if requiredOrganizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe following physical demands must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
